Personal thanks to swingflip and compcom for the original ports of Brutal Doom for the Mini Classics. And, thanks DanTheMan827 and madmonkey, for helping make the environments more friendly for this Brutal Doom HD Implementation! And, of course Id Software and John Romero and Sergeant Mark IV (Marcos Abenante). And, anyone else who had ever worked on a DOOM Mod or actual DOOM Game, or ANY FPS, or game period!:) Important Note: In order to run Brutal Doom HD on the MD/SNES/NES Classics, you must first install one of the updated RetroArch Xtremes from Google Drive and/or Mod Hub. This installation will trigger the Brutal Doom HD Implementation, once all is said and done! Enjoy 1280x720 HD Brutal Doom FTW! PSC Users, simply follow the notes outlined below! Abbreviations: PR = PrBoom BD = Brutal Doom ala GZDoom/ZDoom D4V = Doom 4 Vanilla REQ = Requires; IE: doom2.wad Henceforth, DOOM Mods will be both in Google Drive, as well as on Mod Hub (MD/SNES/NES). These will be for usage with PrBoom, as well as standalone with GZDoom/ZDoom! This project is a collaboration, "for the Mini Classics", by BlackSunshine, Lake-Debris, and myself. More info on the PrBoom implementations of some of these Mods are at: https://www.reddit.com/r/RockinTheClassics/comments/ruml1r/how_to_run_doom_4_vanilla_with_custom_levels_on_a/ Hakchi2 CE Portable Edition, for Usage of MD-S-NES Files! https://github.com/TeamShinkansen/Hakchi2-CE/releases The files in MD-S-NES folder can be added via Hakchi2 CE for usage with the MD-SNES-NES Mini Classics. Be sure to go to hakchi, modules, KMFD Mod Hub, download. Then install the PrBoom DOOM Core via Modules, Install extra modules. The .clvg DOOM Files can be added via File, Add additional games, Autodetect. "req_doom2.wad", as an example, in a .clvg title, means you have to copy and paste a FULL version of doom2.wad into the resulting CLV, after adding to hakchi! You can right click, explore folder, while viewed in hakchi. Or, tap F4. AutoBleem + Xtreme Core Injector Usage: https://github.com/KMFDManic/NESC-SNESC-Modifications/releases In _km_PSC/_AB/ First, format flash/harddrive, to be SONY (fat32 easiest and fastest to get going). Then, install AutoBleem-0.9.0_pass_kmfd.exe to the drive. Then, _km_psc_xtreme_core_injector.exe PSC Users may simply "extract" the "game" archive to their "games" folder on USB Flash/Hard Drive. And, of course, make sure to copy and paste any notated Dependencies, such as doom2.wad! The "trigger" file, which needs loaded, is notated in "trigger" ReadMe! IE: trigger-1klinecp.wad.txt! Brutal Doom Mods will be handled differently. You can run Brutal Doom HD by going into _km_PSC/_AB/_RB_APPS, and installing RB_1.1_PATCH_brutal_doom_hd_0.1.exe directly to the drive. Make sure you first install the AutoBleem Modification (AutoBleem-0.9.0_pass_kmfd.exe), from the _PSC/_AB folder to a SONY formatted Flash Drive (Fat32 fastest and easiest!). Then, you can, of course, install the _km_psc_xtreme_core_injector.exe and any other additional "xtras" you'd like. You will need to navigate to retroarch/apps/compat/lzdoom_brutal/WAD, and copy DOOM.WAD there, in order to successfully be able to boot Brutal Doom HD! Once you start up your Playstation Classic, tap Start at the AutoBleem Menu, then Select, til you see the Apps, choose Brutal Doom, then, you should have the game load up fine, as long as you've followed all above steps! To run additional games, you can create your own launchers, which I may need to do a video tutorial on, and/or instructions in THIS ReadMe! But, for now, you can simply navigate to retroarch/apps/compat/lzdoom_brutal/ And, let's take Simon's Destiny, as an example game! To get that up and running, create a _TEMP folder within lzdoom_brutal, and Cut and Paste your DOOM.WAD, doom2.wad, if they exist, from WAD, into _TEMP; Also, brutalv20b_mmc.pk3 from lzdoom_brutal, to _TEMP. The reason these need to be moved out of the "load" area, is so that Simon's Destiny takes precedence in the loading grand scheme of things. Simon's is a special game that does not require a Base.Wad, such as DOOM.WAD or doom2.wad! brutalv20b_mmc.pk3, however, is a game that DOES require a Base.Wad And, if you leave it within the lzdoom_brutal directory, it will attempt to load it, since it is the "first" in order! So, _TEMP helps ensure Simon's loads fine! Other games require their own special set-ups, depending on whichever! I will update this ReadMe, as well as do Videos, showcasing more of these scenarios! Lastly, included, is the "slade" program, which allows "experts" and "more proficient" End Users to "customize" their Brutal Doom installs, as far as Custom OSTs, etc!. I will do a Video on this, too, of course! For now, enjoy the Update and DOOMsday Awesomeness! KM:)
